Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–2:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach The Bakero at (941) 404-5565; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, thebakero.com.

Great atmosphere and customer service. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon was nothing to write home about. I didn't care for the thick slice of yeasted bread it was on. I would switch the bread for something else. The Bakero omelet was nice and fluffy. Warm matcha latte was good. Sweets from the bakery were amazing. The pistachio croissant was perfection; with a tasty cream filling. The sour cherry Danish was amazing. Perfectly balanced: not too tart, not too sweet, on a perfectly textured Danish. Pay when you place your order at the counter and it gets delivered to your table. Food was served quickly after placing our order. They have the cutest designated play area for kids in a corner of the restaurant. Pets allowed πŸ’– Free parking at Link's parking garage, just a few steps away. Place can get busy and there was a line to order. Great place to people watch, going by on the sidewalk. Kombucha is available .

Great atmosphere, all employees are very nice and attentive. They even have a very cool corner for kids to play. As for the food, everything is fresh and delicious. The cinnamon swirl had the perfect balance/sweetness.

I want to express my gratitude to the team at this cafΓ©β€”you guys are amazing! Everything was wonderful: the work, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service. The bread is baked in-house and served with whipped butter and jam; only someone who truly loves what they do could create something like that. Keep delighting usβ€”wishing you continued success.

We’ve been looking for a local source of quality breads with simple, organic ingredients. This is it. The owner Natalie and Liv helped us choose a bunch of loaves so we could try many. Conveniently located downtown on Main near 301.

This is officially my new favorite spot! The pastries are the best I’ve ever had. The croissant and the strawberry bun are simply incredible. The coffee is delicious, too. Make sure to grab some fresh bread to go β€” it’s the best thing you can have for breakfast! The staff is so friendly, and the atmosphere is just wonderful. Highly recommend!
